An inter-institutional commission composed
by Drug Control Department under the Government of the Republic of
Lithuania evaluated reports of substance abuse prevention projects
implemented in 2009. The Commission rated the project of the Centre for
Crime Prevention in Lithuania „Psychoactive
substance use prevention in Vėliučionys Socialization Centre” as the
best of the 45 assessments.

participation in establishing a safe environment in Kaunas County.

discussion about safe neighbourhood. It was presented Safe neighbourhood
model proposed by CCPL. There were analysed possibilities of

Following a seven-year-old tradition of
cooperation in April 29, 2009 signed by the Police Department and the
Centre for Crime Prevention in Lithuania co-operation agreement on
creation, development and implementation of effective crime prevention
system by elimination the causes and circumstances of crime, to ensure
the security of citizens and their rights, by providing information and
methodological support of crime prevention subjects. Police general
commissar Vizgirdas Telyčėnas and the director of the Centre for Crime
Prevention in Lithuania Evaldas Visockas signing the contract discussed
the overall objective of crime prevention - making the police preventive
strategy to initiate and develop regulation of prevention officers, to
organize and coordinate national-level prevention programs, to collect
and disseminate national and foreign positive experience on prevention
of delinquency, crime and drug abuse.
